The DIY Science Workshop (DSW) is one of the activities organized in conjunction with Karnival Jom Sains 2026 (KJS 2026) . The program aims to spark participants’ interest in conducting science-based experiments independently in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This activity provides participants with the opportunity to develop and refine their skills in handling laboratory apparatus and materials that may be unfamiliar to them.

In addition, the program exposes participants to essential scientific skills such as sample handling, conducting observations, and performing systematic data analysis, while strengthening Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) among participants. Through their involvement in DSW, participants gain new experiences that are rarely obtained in regular school learning.

For this session, the DIY Science Workshop features three engaging workshop-based activities: Magic in Science (MIS), Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), and Cosmetic Chemist (CC). This two-day program will be conducted face-to-face in the teaching laboratories around the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, University Putra Malaysia
